Valdemars Castle has some of Denmarks most beautiful nature. Within minutes of walking you will see white sand beach and wild forest. The forest has oak trees that are hundreds of years old and streams of water run through the forest and in to the ocean. If you are quiet and lucky you may see deer, pheasants and eagles.
Our forest is privately owned. We welcome visitors from 6 am till sunset unless there is a sign saying otherwise. We call upon our visitors to help us take care of the forest and the animals living in it. Dogs must be on a leash at all times when walking in the forest.
On Valdemars Castle hunting has been a tradition for ages. We have maintained this tradition with our professional game keepers who maintain the forest and regulate the number of animals. Our game keepers value animal welfare and our aim is that the animals may live in an area as close to their natural habitat as possible. When walking in the forest you may meet a hunter, and we encourage our visitiors to show consideration to the hunters. Some areas of the forest are sometimes marked as closed when there is a hunt.
Horseriders with a licens from Valdemars Castle are welcome in the forest as long as they also show consideration to other users of the forest.
